European Hyperloop Week

Europe's Premier Student Hyperloop Competition

European Hyperloop Week (EHW) is the premier student hyperloop competition in Europe, bringing together university teams to develop and demonstrate hyperloop pod prototypes. Held annually, the event challenges engineering students to push the limits of speed, efficiency, and sustainability in next-generation transportation.

Teams compete in various categories, including pod design, propulsion systems, levitation technology, and overall performance. EHW serves as a launchpad for groundbreaking innovations and fosters collaboration between students, industry leaders, and researchers who share a vision for revolutionising the future of travel.

Hyperloop Manchester has been a proud participant in European Hyperloop Week, showcasing our innovative pod designs and competing against top university teams from across the continent. Our involvement has driven significant advances in our magnetic levitation and braking systems, earning recognition for technical excellence.

Global Competition

Global Hyperloop Competition

The Global Hyperloop Competition (GHC) brings together student teams from universities worldwide to design, build, and test hyperloop pod prototypes. Originally inspired by the SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition, GHC continues to challenge the brightest engineering students to develop the next generation of high-speed transport.

Hyperloop Manchester monitors GHC closely and may participate in future editions as our pod technology matures and competition eligibility expands.

Format

Teams submit technical design documents and compete in on-track pod speed trials judged by industry experts.

Categories

Speed runs, pod design, safety systems, innovation, and sustainability are all evaluated by competition judges.

Our Participation

We are evaluating eligibility for future GHC editions as our levitation and propulsion systems mature.
